After almost 10 years, Mary Ann Mavrinac has served her last day as vice provost and Andrew H. and Janet Dayton Neilly Dean of the University of Rochester Libraries. She has officially begun her retirement and taken up her status as emeritus dean.

November marks the celebration of Native American Heritage month. To honor the occasion, RBSCP will highlight a historical yet conflicting figure in the Native American sphere: Arthur Caswell Parker (1881-1955). As a Seneca Indian himself, he was as an advocate for American Indian Day, which became declared in New York State by May 1916. Over seven decades later, the initial designation of November as National American Indian Heritage Month became approved and has evolved to how we know it today.1
The Ask the Archivist column in the Winter 2020 Rochester Review explored the six deaf students described in the newspaper clipping from the September 17, 1921, Rochester Democrat and Chronicle--all graduates of the Rochester School for the Deaf--who went on to attend the University at the same time.
